Eternal Moonlight

The Eternal Moonlight waits quietly,

watching all of your mistakes and choices and goals
the life you build up from dust relents under ignorance you hold
every handshake, greeting, or conversation
all made for the sake of being heard upon the humane cosmos

Those dreams were mean for fools, darling
Do you not realize how long we’ve been stuck here starving
All of the strives we make seem to escape back from that cave we made
Nothing breathes inside that dark, cool corridor
The lies we told ourselves echo inside our souls
So one day we look back and see just what

What did we create?

I wish we could share this serene glaze across the sky
But the moonlight calls to me, and I see the fervor in her eyes
Reaching towards and endless prize
After all the best gifts keep giving, until the fateful day they die
