Barred Bones #OSEwritingchallenge

In case you missed my first post on the Writing Challenge for today:

It was write any piece of work based off of one, single, word
that first word being composer

for this post the word is: cane

While starting this prompt for me I centered my work around these floating ideas:

——————————–
old man
tired war veteran
weapon of knowledge
ran out of time
———————————

Having these words serve as a focal point of inspiration helped guide my progress, even if my mind flew away into a spatial orbit; floating among drifting stardust never to return

This is a story that has not seen it’s inevitable end, but perhaps his story wasn’t meant to . . . Oh! right I’ve said too much already, may we move onto the script now!!

Alright back on track with the program

Here is our latest edition of today’s writing challenge on Our Shared Existence

Barred Bones

It must of been evening when I woke seeking that sucker whose loose wits bested me
cool concrete knew best that fools stay wounded when their skulls tense
had my stick broken his jaw, maybe these piercing voices would cease
Ol lonesome wood, loyal and stupid from desperate lies we’ve struck down
Not a voice would breach these streets, had their loyal tool not been round
So now we both wake from dazed lights, leaving drunk grains for nights fierce howl

Those scouring silhouettes sunk sweetly upon my return
I viciously swung this ancient wood like any brisk chip may scream home-run
As every sound feeds into blunt, bumpy rumbles; searing glares melted a moment of silence
every swing ingrains such unquenched scorn, that I simply couldn’t settle for starved wishes

Epilogue:

I hope you enjoyed this short story, because this was a challenging task for myself, especially since for me I took only 30 minutes to create it.

I know that may seem like a false number, given the amount of content I used, but well I generally don’t write using any time limit, and instead write until a given piece is done. This can lead to some shady upload times, which is why my content has been a bit sparse lately . . . . . . well that and school of course.

I believe time restraints cause us to become more creative, because you have to cover more ground with fewer time for any dead thoughts. Your brain becomes jazzed with neural networks seeking quick solutions, instead of relaxing upon known knowledge. How positively exhilarating it was participating in such a stimulating challenge. I hope you all decide to as well; and don’t worry I didn’t apply the same strict guidelines to my first #OSEwritingchallenge because I didn’t want anyone to feel to daunted by the work. If few visitors participate, I may add the timed interval a bit to spice up the stakes, but we shall see how that goes.

This was also 2/2 of the writings I made for this writing challenge so if you enjoyed check out 1/2 here

Since summer is coming up be prepared for a wealth of content from me, and while I am getting a job I will have significantly more free time now that school is out.

If you made it to the end of this post thank you so much for taking some time out of your day to read this humble, bizarre writers words, and I hope you have a blessed day.
